We All Scream for Ice Cream: Top 10 Creative Ice Cream Treats in Stark County

April 16, 2019 -- Summer is just right around the corner. Get ready to prepare your list of must have ice cream treats. Whether it is after a baseball game or to just cool down from the sun, here is a list of the top ice cream treats to try in Stark County.

  1. New Baltimore Homemade Ice Cream (Blue Moon Ice Cream)
    New Baltimore is located in Hartville and has been serving ice cream since 1992. This local family-owned business makes homemade ice cream on site. There are many flavors and varieties to try, however, their homemade Blue Moon flavor is something unique. Blue Moon has a flavor similar to fruity cereal and sure is a hit with the kids. Be sure to bring cash, for New Baltimore is a cash only business. New Baltimore is planning on opening May 1st, 2019 so be sure to stop out!

  2. Pav’s Creamery (Adult Shakes)
    Pav’s Creamery offers a unique twist to the indulging summer treat of ice cream, alcohol. Pav’s has a variety of adult shakes to choose from. You must be 21 years old to consume this treat as well as consume it on premise. My favorite adult shake flavor is the Johnny Jam Boogie which consists of vanilla custard, caramel sauce, crushed snickers, vodka, and bourbon cream. This tasty treat is not for the young at heart!

  3. Taggart’s Ice Cream (The Bittner)
    Taggart’s is a Canton must visit destination. Taggart’s was established in 1926 and has been popular with the locals and visitors ever since. A tasty treat that is a Taggart’s tradition is The Bittner. The Bittner is ¾ pound of vanilla ice cream with homemade chocolate syrup blended throughout, and to top it all off is roasted pecans. If this tasty treat seems like too much for you, do not worry, Taggart’s offers the Mini Bittner for those who like it on the smaller side.

  4. Oser’s Dairy and Deli (Banana Split)
    Oser’s Dairy and Deli is a destination spot for all who loved tasty treats in big portions. Oser’s makes their soft serve ice cream in store so it sure will be nice and fresh. The banana split is 3lbs of ice cream, bananas, whipped cream, nuts and cherries. Get the banana split for yourself or make it a sharable among the family.

  5. Milk and Honey (Mudslide Sundae)
    Milk and Honey is a Canton favorite. They offer a variety of tasty treats other than ice cream as well. The Mudslide Sundae is a treat that I recommend. Who couldn’t resist a jumbo fresh baked brownie covered in vanilla ice cream, smothered with chocolate syrup and topped off with whipped cream?

  6. Heggy’s Nut Shop (Heggy’s Special)
    Heggy’s Nut Shop offer more than just nuts and candy. Heggy’s also has a restaurant and ice cream. At Heggy’s you can choose from scoops, cones, milkshakes, sodas, malts and sundaes. Heggy’s Special is a large scoop of ice cream with caramel, marshmallow, and sliced banana. If Heggy’s Special is not up your alley, there are plenty of other options to choose from!

  7. Kustard Korner (Chocolate Chip Cookie with Soft Serve)
    Kustard Korner many not be ice cream, but custard is close enough! Kustard Korner has over 38 ice cream flavors as well as sundaes, splits, shakes, swirls, and floats. Bring the kiddos down to grab not only custard, but a cookie as well by enjoying a two chocolate chip cookies with your flavor of soft serve ice cream in the middle. This sweet treat will sure not disappoint!

  8. Cherry Street Creamery (Flavors and More Flavors)
    Cherry Street Creamery offers many different flavors. With the variety of options to choose from you will have to keep coming back to try new flavors. Some unique flavor options include Caramel Salty Dog, Carrot Cream Cheesecake, Cookie Monster, Pistachio and Peanut Butter & Jelly. Among these unique flavors there are many more options to choose from! Bring cash, for it is a cash only establishment.

    Kremeland lies within the village of Navarre in Stark County. Kremeland is unique in the fact that is shaped like a barn. This unique atmosphere as well as the food and tasty treats that Kremeland offers is a must stop with the family. Kremeland offers a variety of floats such as Root Beer, Pepsi, Dr, Pepper, Diet Pepsi, Orange and Mountain Dew. It’s hard to find this many float flavors anywhere else!

  10. Thompson’s Dairyland & Restaurant (Unique Names)
    This Louisville hit is home to “Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream.” There are a variety of flavors with some unique names.Some names include Zanzibar Chocolate, Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, This Just Got Serious and Raspberry Rhapsody. There are many other flavors besides these options. These flavors of ice cream can be eaten in scoop, milkshakes, sundaes, brownie sundaes and banana splits.
