Looking for something fun to do during the holiday weekend? Stop out July 1-5 (Closed SUNDAY) for an exciting weekend of shopping, food and fun! They typically have more than 1,000 vendors selling everything from comic books and produce to antiques. Make sure to wear your walking shoes, sunscreen, and bring your water bottle! Mark your calendars, because you do not want to miss out on all of the bargains and fun!

North Canton Heritage Trail Grand Opening

Take a stroll through North Canton for a fun and educational walking tour showcasing individuals, organizations, and events that shaped the development of North Canton. Visit anytime July 2-5, take a picture of yourself on the trail, and tag the North Canton Heritage Society on Facebook for a chance to win a prize!


Canton First Friday: Chalk the Walk

First Friday is a monthly party in the downtown Canton Arts District, featuring music, performances, and visual arts events. This party is one to be matched, with chalk artists using Downtown Canton as their canvas. Chris Higbee will be taking the stage at Centennial Plaza from 8PM-11PM to kick-off the long holiday weekend

North Canton YMCA July 4th Race

Stark County’s landmark run, the North Canton YMCA July 4th Race, is celebrating its 43rd Anniversary. It will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. Drawing people from all over the region, we anticipate nearly 3000 people of all ages to participate in the 2 mile or 5 mile course.

Enjoy open air, market style shopping at the newly renovated Oakwood Square Plaza. Shop local, tented vendors in green space AND explore restaurants and breweries in the plaza!


St. Helena III Canal Boat Rides


July 3 | Canal Fulton Canalway Center

Take a step back in history and travel the Canal! The St. Helena II canal boat is pulled by two draft horses, Dan & Izzy, and departs from the Port of Canal Fulton in St. Helena Heritage Park for a one-hour ride down the Ohio & Erie Canal. A historian on board provides information on the history of the canal, the boat and the area. Ride leaves at 11:00AM, 12:15PM, 1:30PM and 2:45PM. Make sure you are there a half hour early to purchase tickets and board the boat.


Maize Valley Lavender Festival 


July 3 | Maize Valley Winery & Craft Brewery


Wander the grounds while you enjoy a glass of wine or beer, visit with all of the artisans, take tons of pictures of the beautiful lavender in bloom, pick a bouquet to take home. The event will feature approximately 100 various artisans displaying their unique talents with jewelry, wood, painting, fiber, ceramic and more.  In addition to all of the artisans, food trucks will be on site and the kitchen at Maize Valley will be open with our daily menu.

July 3-5 | Umbrella Alley 


Come out and watch superior artists chalk the walls all weekend! Umbrella Alley and Louisville will be alive with a couple of food vendors and our restaurants and shops will be open for you to enjoy!

Allison Gromofsky is the Marketing Coordinator for Visit Canton.  She enjoys shopping, spending time with friends & family, going to concerts, and watching football!  Allison can be found trying new restaurants, exploring museums, and hanging out at Canton First Fridays.
