Canton First Friday: Chalk the Walk

First Friday is a monthly party in the downtown Canton Arts District, featuring music, performances, and visual arts events. This party is one to be matched, with chalk artists using Downtown Canton as their canvas. Chris Higbee will be taking the stage at Centennial Plaza from 8PM-11PM to kick-off the long holiday weekend.

North Canton YMCA July 4th Race

Stark County’s landmark run, the North Canton YMCA July 4th Race, is celebrating its 43rd Anniversary. It will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. Drawing people from all over the region, we anticipate nearly 3000 people of all ages to participate in the 2 mile or 5 mile course.

St. Helena III Canal Boat Rides
July 3 | Canal Fulton Canalway Center
Take a step back in history and travel the Canal! The St. Helena II canal boat is pulled by two draft horses, Dan & Izzy, and departs from the Port of Canal Fulton in St. Helena Heritage Park for a one-hour ride down the Ohio & Erie Canal. A historian on board provides information on the history of the canal, the boat and the area. Ride leaves at 11:00AM, 12:15PM, 1:30PM and 2:45PM. Make sure you are there a half hour early to purchase tickets and board the boat.
Maize Valley Lavender Festival

Wander the grounds while you enjoy a glass of wine or beer, visit with all of the artisans, take tons of pictures of the beautiful lavender in bloom, pick a bouquet to take home. The event will feature approximately 100 various artisans displaying their unique talents with jewelry, wood, painting, fiber, ceramic and more. In addition to all of the artisans, food trucks will be on site and the kitchen at Maize Valley will be open with our daily menu.
