Canton First Friday: Find Out What’s Going On!

May 31, 2019 -- The monthly music, food, and art festival held on the streets of the Canton Arts District! On Friday, June 7th we celebrate with Canton Blues Fest! Over 50 vendors with food, art, and art activities.

  • Canton Kindness Coalition will be doing music themed face painting at Arrowhead Vintage and Handmade Goods.
  • Julz by Alan Rodriguez (537 Cleveland Ave NW) in their BRAND NEW location will be showcasing Russ Hench featured artist.
  • The Hub Art Factory (336 6th St NW) will be hosting Live Art Demos. The building will be filled with artists of all sorts working on their craft--painters, sculptors, musicians, and balloon artists... Come see how it's made!
  • Be A Better Me Foundation will be celebrating the "Blues" with Kona Ice of Central Canton! The Kona Truck will be at our office serving all things shaved and FUN! Come by for Music, Fun, and some fun activities for the kids! A special Blue Shaved Ice treat will be available as well.
  • Canton Palace Theatre (605 Market Ave. N) The FREE family movie “Sing” at 7:30pm will have you singing anything but the blues.
  • Grapes in a Glass (575 Market Ave N) has the Blues! Beef and Blue cheese sliders with horseradish and Creole Blue Crab Dip! Try our Blue Lagoon Cocktail while listening to life music 6:30 to Mn. Nick Bonner 9-mn. 6:30-8:30 TBA
  • Pinetree Primitives & Rustic Riches (334 4th St NW) Chase the blues away with a FREE 1.5 oz wax melt with your purchase of $15 or more.
  • Lynda Tuttle's Art Center - Empowering Lives Through the Arts (209 6th St NW) Earth, Sky, Sea Exhibit featuring artist Robyn Martins’ oil & cold wax paintings and her intriguing rustic assemblages inspired by poetry. Exhibit runs through June 29th.
  • John Strauss Furniture Design, Ltd. (236 Walnut, NE) now has a bookshelf of local authors' books, such as Corey Minor Smith's #Driven, Barbara Abbott / Kimberly Kenney's Stark County Food and Audrey Lavin's Turning Leaves. Visitors can explore books as well as new furniture and lighting designs that were recently debuted at the Spring Furniture Market in North Carolina while listening to some classic blues with light refreshments.

Event is from 5pm-8pm with the Book Talk promptly at 7pm. Enjoy FREE admission and a cash bar.
  • Buzzbin Art & Music Shop will be featuring two female lead bands - The Spider Lillies and The Rusty Soul Band while Chris Cook performs a live art demonstration!
