October 2, 2020- The kids have off of school and you have to find a way to entertain them. Here are ways to entertain your kids, your neighbors’ kids, or your inner kid at heart this Columbus Day in Stark County!

It's Columbus Day on Monday, October 12th and there are so many activities to safely explore with your family throughout Stark County. Special Happenings on Columbus Day

Canton Museum of Art


Join the CMA for our School’s Out FREE Mondays. Looking for something fun & educational to do with your family or friends on Columbus Day? This FREE event will focus on celebrating Indigenous People in America by taking a look at the ceramics on-view in our current exhibit, "Stories: BIPOC Artists from the Permanent Collection".  Learn about Indigenous Artists then make your own seed pot, based on the work of Robert G. Naranjo, using air-dry clay.  You will also be able to explore the galleries as you go on a socially distanced Scavenger Hunt! 


Visit the Canton Museum of Art Monday, October 12th for FREE admission 10:00am to 3:00pm in honor of Columbus Day! Register for FREE timed tickets here. 


Sluggers & Putters


Families can enjoy the Columbus Day Special including Unlimited Rides, Go-karts, mini-golf & more! Columbus Day unlimited ride wristband, only $24 for heights over 48 inches and $18 for under 48 inches!


Sluggers & Putters is open Monday,October 12th from 12pm-5pm!


Nickajack Farms Pumpkin Days


Guess what time of year it is! Fall! Head on over to Nickajack for real fun on the farm, including animals and pumpkin patch! Take a hayride or test your skills in the corn maze. With tons of pumpkin activities, your kids will be bowling with pumpkins, golfing with them, and so much more! Columbus Day Kids can go out to the pumpkin patch and pick their own pumpkin!


Festival hours are 11AM until 7PM and General Admission is $12 per person. Pre-purchase your tickets here. 


Center Ice Sports Complex 


A state-of-the-art sports facility that features a NHL size ice arena, gameroom, lockeroom, and snack bar!


Enjoy Public Skating from 12PM until 3PM. Admission is $7 and skate rental is an additional $3.


Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park 


Pack a picnic and enjoy the beautiful fall weather at Sippo Lake Park! Enjoy the trails, playgrounds, library and interactive environment learning at Congressman Ralph Regula Canalway Center. The Perry Sippo Library features a 400-gallon aquarium as well!


Canalway Center hours are 10AM until 4PM and is FREE to explore!


Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market 


Monday means Flea Market Day! Give your kids $10 and see what they end up with! You never know what you might find at the flea market, but there’s sure to be plenty of vendors selling pumpkins, mums, and fall decorations for your home! The kids could event get an early start on holiday shopping.  Enjoy a fresh lunch at Sarah’s Grill with kid-friendly favorites!


Open Mondays from 9AM until 5PM.


The Wilderness Center 


Your kids like exploring the outdoors? Take them to the Wilderness Center! With over 10 miles of walking trails, include an old growth forest, a lake, a pond, a look-out tower and prairies! Pack a lunch and play on the nature playscape that is a playground built out of steams, plants, boulders, logs, and earth mounds!


Enjoy the trails open dawn until dusk and admission is FREE.


Fall Fun at Maize Valley


Featuring an 8-acre corn maze, wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, straw bale mountain, tire pile, animal train ride for the younger kids, pumpkin cannon demonstrations, goat-a-palooza animal area, chicken area, push carts, pedal trikes, and so much more.


Harvest activities are open 12PM until 7PM daily. Tickets are $11 per person (ages 2+) and include most activities, including corn maze. Access to the fall activity area will require a pre-purchased admission ticket valid for a 3-hour time period. Purchase your tickets here.
