2021 Events

Summer Splash Challenge
July 15 to 30, 2021
Walborn Reservoir and Sippo Lake Park

It’s a new twist on a Stark Parks classic event.  From July 15 to 30, 2021 we invite you to explore by kayak and enter for a chance to win an inflatable kayak kit.  Stop in to the Sippo Lake Park or Walborn Reservoir marinas during regular open hours, pay your entry fee, and receive a one hour single kayak rental, a dry bag, pen, and “passport.”
Paddle the perimeter of the lake to find Summer Splash signs and fill in the code words on your passport within one hour.

During the first week of August, one winner will be chosen randomly from the completed entries at each lake.  The two winners will receive a kayak kit including an inflatable kayak, a pump, paddle, and carrying case.  Supplies of bags, pens and passports are limited!  Limit one entry per person and must be 16 year or older to enter.

Entry fee is $15.00 in-county resident/$20.00 out-of-county resident.  Rentals depend on kayak availability (First come, first served), and must be used at time of payment.

The event will be catfishing only, with shore fishing only permitted. Registration and fishing begin at 5 p.m.  All catfish must be checked in by 10 p.m., with prizes awarded shortly after.  There will be a demonstration at 4:45 p.m. with K-9 Ranger Gunnar.
