President’s Day: Events To Entertain the Kids

February 7, 2020- The kids are off, you have a long weekend, and you want to make sure no one is complaining that they are bored! Head to the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum to honor our 25th President, and then check out one of these other events!

1. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum 

Kids (& kids at heart!) love this interactive museum! Check out Discover World, where you are greeted by Alice the Allosaurous, and you can crawl into a hut that people that would have lived in over 11,000 years ago under the fossilized remains of a mastodon! Explore the Street of Shops and take a step back in time! Kids love the life-like President McKinley and Fascination Station, where you can capture your shadow, be the weatherman for the day, or create a mini tornado! The gift shop is affordable for parents and don’t forget to go to the top of the McKinley Monument!

The Museum is open 9AM until 4PM and admission is $10 per adult, $9 for seniors, and $8 for children ages 3-18. There will also be planetarium shorts running throughout the day. 

2. Canton Museum of Art 

School's Out so it means FREE Monday's! Looking for something fun & educational to do with your family or friends on Presidents' Day? The Canton Museum of Art has just the thing! Presidents' Day at the CMA offers FREE admission, MAKE&TAKE art activities and more featuring our current exhibit - Crowns: Crossing into Motherhood.  

The Museum is open from 10AM until 4PM and admission is FREE for everyone on President's Day, and there will be interactive activities throughout the museum all day! 

3. Center Ice Sports Complex 

A state-of-the-art sports facility that features a NHL size ice arena, gameroom, lockeroom, and snack bar!

Enjoy Public Skating from 12PM until 6PM. Admission is $7 and skate rental is an additional $3. 

4. Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park 

Enjoy the trails, playgrounds, library and interactive environment learning at Congressman Ralph Regula Canalway Center. The Perry Sippo Library features a 400-gallon aquarium as well! 

Congressman Ralph Regula Canalway Center hours are 10AM until 4PM and is FREE to explore!

5. Sky Zone Belden Village

Have an epic time at SkyCamp on President's Day, From 9AM - 4PM! It's easy and hassle-free for parents: Drop 'em off and we'll make sure they have the best experience ever. Includes jumping, crafts, activities, pizza, drinks and more! Call 330.538.8300 to book your Sky Camp Session today. 

6. Beech Creek Gardens

Enjoy a fun day off work or school by connecting with nature at Beech Creek Gardens on Presidents' Day! Entertain the whole family with an exciting day of outdoor fun! Help your kids burn off excess energy by running, jumping & crawling on the 2-acre nature playground and bring your own sled and zoom down our family-friendly sledding hill (both of these activities are weather permitting). Hand-feed wild chickadees and stay warm beside the outdoor campfire while sipping complimentary hot cocoa and roasting marshmallows. 

Monday, February 17, 2020 from 11 am-2 pm at Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve in Alliance. General admission is only $5 per person. Beech Creek members and children ages 2 and younger receive free admission.

7. Skymax Trampoline Arena

Head to Skymax for a jumping good time! Enjoy 60 minutes for $15.99, 90 minutes for $19.99, or 120 minutes for $23.99! For those 40 inches & under unlimited jump is $11.99. SkyMax grip socks are $1. Upgrade to premium for $2. Bring back your own for no additional cost.

Skymax will have extened hours for President's Day will be open from 10AM to 6PM.

8. Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market 

Monday means Flea Market Day at the Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market! Give your kids $10 and see what they end up with. You never know what you might find at the flea market, but there’s sure to be plenty of vendors selling clothes, toys, candy, trading cards, and so much more! Enjoy a fresh lunch at Sarah’s Grill with tons of kid friendly favorites! PLUS, it's Kid's Fun Day! They will have indoor inflatables, a Mad Science Show, balloon twisters, face painting, board games, and many more fun activities for the entire family.

All of the indoor shops will be open from 9AM-5PM. Kids Fun Day activities will be taking place from 10AM until 2PM.
