New Faces in Downtown Canton

Shattered Expressions InstallationArtist Tommy Morgan is the latest artist to add his impressions onto the ever-evolving landscape of public art in the Canton Arts District. His newest work, a 10' by 40' three-dimensional piece, titled Shattered Expressions, was installed this past week on the west side of the building on the corner of 5th Street and Cleveland Avenue NW. "In Shattered Expressions, I am trying to capture the essential human expressions of joy, rage and sorrow. As human beings, we cannot have one of these emotions without having all the others," says Morgan who has worked for months on designing, creating and supervising the installation of his three human faces. The human faces in Morgan's creation suggest that joy comes from sorrow, sorrow goes into rage, and rage eventually turns back into joy.
