National Ice Cream Day Bucket List for Stark County

July 2021 - “I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream” is the chorus to our childhood summer memories! We are still all children at heart, and with the warm temperatures this summer, what a better to cool down then to indulge in an ice cream treat? Sunday, July 18 is National Ice Cream Day, so here is a list of some of the best places to get ice cream in Stark County!

Taggarts Ice Cream | Not only does this place have AMAZING ice cream, but they also make you feel like you are stepping back in time.  Established in 1926, Taggarts is a Canton Landmark, with specialty items including the Bittner, Turtle Sundae, and HUGE drumsticks.  Whatever you get here, you are sure to be pleased!

Milk & Honey | An old school, family-owned spot offering classic diner fare, ice cream sundaes & sodas, is another Canton classic.  You can order just about any ice cream treat here from milkshakes, malts, banana splits, root beer floats and many different choices in hardpack!

Heggy’s Nut Shop | Known for their delicious chocolate and nuts, you can stop by Heggy’s to enjoy your favorite ice cream treats as well!  Known for their banana splits, malts, and pineapple sundaes, they also offer the best floats, with any type of soda!

Oser’s Dairy and Deli | Located on the corner in Historic Canal Fulton, make sure you are prepared to stand in line! With so many flavors of hard packed ice cream to choose from, this is a bucket list spot.  At Oser’s they make their soft-serve ice cream in store, and just remember if you order a small, be prepared for a cone is 6-inches high!

Pav's Creamery North Canton | Pav's Creamery has been making homemade Kustard, Hard Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Sorbets in the Akron-Canton area for over 45 years. They pride themselves in using all local suppliers throughout the state of Ohio to carft their ice cream that is made fresh daily. Known for their delicious ice cream, people are flocking to Pav's for their adult milkshakes. Yes, you heard me right ADULT (boozey) MILKSHAKES!

Cherry Street Creamery | Everyone loves to walk or bike the Ohio & Erie Canal and then get ice cream! Located on the Ohio & Erie Canal in Canal Fulton, this fan favorite has different Flavors of the Week every week.  Cherry Street specializes in custard, so your family will love the thick, creamy treat!

Country Cones | Located in an old gas station, you can't go wrong with their soft serve or the local favorite Jumbo Ice Cream Sandwiches. They have been serving up ice cream and smiles since 1988.

Kremeland | In the heart of Navarre, you better stop here with a full appetite! Not only will you enjoy a decadent sundae, thick shakes, and many different flavors of good old fashioned ice cream.  In a building that looks like a futuristic barn, enjoy food from a hot dog to a pork chop dinner!  They are also known for their stone baked pizzas.

Ro's Custard Creations | A fan favorite, Ro's sells premium custard and frozen yogurt, and specialize in sundaes, milkshakes and concretes. For a unique "twist" enjoy their homemade taco shell filled with twist custard. It's topped with cookie dough bites and drizzled with chocolate cone dip!

Almost Heaven Homemade Ice Cream | Located in Plain Township, this widely popular ice cream stand is known for their Butter Pecan and Strawberry ice cream.  For the kids, (or kids at heart) they make ice cream sandwiches with fresh cookies!

New Baltimore Homemade | This local favorite has two locations, one in Alliance and one at the ever popular Rolling Greens Miniature Golf in Uniontown. With new flavors all the time, this is the perfect place to stop with the family.

Smith’s Waco Market | Located on Waynesburg Drive, just south of Route 30, in Canton, you can tell this place is popular by the line that is always out the door.  The banana splits are the largest most have ever seen, but the prices are low, low, low!
