Kids love the interactive aspects of the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum! Get hands-on with science in Discover World and history in the Street of Shops. Be greeted by Alice the animatronic dinosaur, crawl into a hut that people would have lived in over 11,000 years ago, and see the fossilized remains of a mastodon. The planetarium is offering special presentations of "Cosmic Kids" and "Universe at Large". Also, a special speaker at 10:00 AM, Education Director Ally Carlson, will give a presentation about presidential pets for all to enjoy. The Museum is open in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Admission is $10 per adult, $9 for seniors, and $8 for children ages 3-18.
Want to feel like you are on vacation without having to travel too far from home? Dive into the Massillon Aquatics Center inside of the Massillon Recreation Center to swim. Including a lazy river, a multi-purpose/splashdown pool, a dry sauna, and two 19-ft high water slides, this makes for one great family fun day. Day Passes are available for just $7 per person or you can purchase 5 visits for $30. Open swim is 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 17.
Get your JUMP on
When I say jump, you say how high? Get some major air in at Sky Zone Trampoline Park, an indoor trampoline park that is full of FUN. Enjoy an open jump in the platform of trampolines or put your skills to the test in 3D Dodgeball or Slam-Dunk Basketball. Seek new heights In this all-ages air adventure! Open jump is from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Take a hike & explore outdoors
Weather permitting, Stark Parks trails are absolutely beautiful with or without snow, so dress for the weather and make memories together exploring the wildlife! Head to Quail Hollow Park in Hartville, Petros Lake Park in Perry Township and complete the Mindfulness Walk, or head to Sippo Lake Park to explore the outdoor wildlife encounters at the Wildlife Conservation Center (Indoor Atrium will not be open on Monday, January 17th).
Go shopping—at the Flea Market
Monday means flea market day at the Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market! Give your kids $10 and see what they end up with! You never know what you might find at the flea market, but there’s sure to be plenty of vendors selling clothes, toys, candy, trading cards, and so much more! Enjoy a fresh lunch at Sarah’s Grill with tons of kid-friendly favorites!
Ice Skating Outdoors & Indoors
There is something about ice skating outdoors that makes it even more enjoyable. This winter, get the full ice skating experience outdoors in Downtown Canton at the Hall of Fame City Ice Rink located right beside the Courthouse. Admission is $2 and Skate Rental (admission included) is only $4 per person, for affordable family fun. Regular ice rink hours are 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Mondays. The artificial Ice Rink at Jackson North Park will also be open from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, but please bring your own skates. You can also skate inside from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Center Ice Sports Complex located in North Canton, near the Akron-Canton Airport.
