It’s the First Day of Summer!

It's the First Day of Summer, and it's a hot one! The Summer is going to be a hot, so here are a few ideas of seasonal activities to do with your family and friends.

When you were a kid, summer break meant days at the pool, playing outside with your friends, being sunburnt, and not having a care in the world!  This summer, you can still be a kid at heart! On this first day of summer, and HOT first week of summer, here are just a few ideas for fun in the sun with family and friends.


Clay’s Park Resort | Whether you are looking for a day at the water park or a weekend Staycation, Clay’s Park has camping lots, Glamping, an Adventure Waterpark, and many special events from car shows to music festivals.


Sluggers & Putters | Enjoy one of the two adventure mini golf courses, bumper boats, race around the two tracks with the go carts, practice your golf game on the driving range, or your swing at the batting cages.  With 7 new rides for the kids and an arcade, there is something for everyone to do!


Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve | Come visit the seasonal Butterfly House and learn the lifecycle of native Ohio butterflies.  Pack a lunch and enjoy the beautiful hiking trails.


Exploration gateway- ohio wildlife historyStark Parks | With multiple parks throughout Stark County, there is some sort of activity that everyone will enjoy.  Summer Serenades  in the Park, co-sponsored by the Canton Symphony Orchestra, offer free concerts at venues throughout Stark County all summer long.  Interested in Geocaching?  Participate in the Strolling Stark Geotour (http://www.visitcanton.com/directory/strolling-stark-geotour/), and earn a commemorative, trackable geocoin.


Nickajack Farms | Visit this actual functioning farm on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 11AM-3PM for Family Fun Days.  Discovery Barn-a hands on learning space, Farmer Joes Barnyard Animals, Rascals Round up with an igloo, Rascals Rhythms Hay Chutes, a wooden maze and Pedal Carts are must-do activities during Family Fun Days.  They also offer horseback riding lessons throughout the summer!Nickajackracers


Atwood Lake Park | Enjoy boating, fishing, camping, hiking and hunting at Atwood Lake Park.  The Park features a wide, sandy beach with water toys and concessions, changing room with showers, playground, picnic area and picnic shelters for only $5 a carload this summer!


Looking for someplace to cool down and swim?  Make sure to check out Baylor Beach in Navarre, Dogwood Park in North Canton, or Clearwater Park in Uniontown!
