For the first time in 15 years, a comic convention returns to Canton, Ohio! The 1st annual Hall of Fame City Comic Con will be held at the McKinley Room of the Canton Civic Center. This family friendly and affordable show, will run from 10AM until 6PM with admission $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and children 5 and under are free.
The focus of the show will be a family friendly and cost friendly show for comic book and pop culture fans of all ages. With dozens of vendors and local creators, there is something for everyone including thousands of comics, toys, crafts, original art and MUCH more.
This first year show will be featuring a guest list of some of the biggest names in comic books:
George Perez: Legendary comic artist who has worked for both Marvel and DC comics, among others. Well known for his work on the Avengers, Teen Titans, Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Jim Steranko: Another legendary artist, his most famous comic book work was with the 1960s superspy feature Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Marvel Comics’ Strange Tales, Captain America and many others.
Howard Chaykin: A writer and artist with a varied selection of work from the original Star Wars comic book series, to his own creation American Flagg, among many other works. He was also a write for the classic Flash TV series that ran on CBS.
Ryan Meinerding: The current Head of Visual Development for Marvel Studios. He has been a large creative force behind the looks of the heroes and villains in almost ALL of the Marvel Comics movies. From Iron Man all the way to the recently released, Captain America: Civil War. Ryan is from the Canton area and the HOFCCC is happy to bring him home for his FIRST show in the area.
Patrick Nelson, show owner, says: “Bringing a show back to Canton has been a dream of ours for over a decade. Myself and my group are longtime fans that wanted to bring something special back to Canton.”
