View unique works of Ellsworth Smith, most on loan from collectors, never before in public show. Available March - October, free tours hourly, 1,2,3, 4 p.m. Thurs., Fri., Sat. Groups of 8 or more require reservations and available weekday mornings.
The late Ellsworth Smith, a 40-year Hoover Company employee, was the Norman Rockwell of North Canton. Known for watercolors, usually scenes of
New Berlin/North Canton, view a unique watercolor of the Hoover family homestead, works featuring his character Gaylord (so loved by professional golfer, Jack Nicklaus, he commissioned Smith for works to display in his offices), a charcoal of Hoover Company founder W.H. "Boss" Hoover, and a most unique still life. Cartoons Smith drew and featured in Hoover publications are also displayed.
