Canton Summer Festival Guide 2017: music. food. arts. football. culture.

April 19, 2017- With warm weather, live music, delicious food, arts, cultural experiences, entertainment for the kids (and kids at heart!) and celebrations of greatness, from May until September, you will find yourself exploring your way through Stark County!

Brick Street Art & Jazz Festival | May 20 | Downtown Minerva



Admire the beauty of Downtown Minerva and enjoy a full day of jazz music, arts activities and so much more!



Oddmall's "Riverside Ramble" | May 20 | Stadium Park 



Canton Parks and Recreation will host Oddmall’s “Riverside Ramble” at Stadium Park on May 20 from 10AM to 7PM. The event will host art vendors, live entertainment, food trucks, games, activities and the Ohio Kubb Championship. Admission is free for both events with a suggested $5 donation.



Vintage Canton | May 25 | Central Plaza in Downtown Canton



Vintage Canton is a sophisticated downtown gathering, offering distinctive center city charm alongside live music, vibrant art exhibits and, of course, quality local wine and wine from around the world! Guests will receive a ticket for 8 wine tastings, gourmet cheeses and breads, and there will also be samplers from local restaurants for purchase!



St. Barbara Parish Festival | May 25-29 | St. Barbara Catholic Church 



This annual event will have fun for all ages and will kick off your summer fun! Enjoy rides provided by Bates Amusement, games, your favorite fetsival food, raffles, and live entertainment all weekend. Local favorites, La Flavour, will perform Friday Night! 



Canton Greek Fest | June 8-10 | St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church



From live entertainment and cooking demonstrations to great food and gifts-to-go, come celebrate summer the Greek way!



Canton Blues Fest | June 9 & 10 | Downtown Canton



Northeast Ohio’s premier FREE blues fest will be featuring headliners Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers on Friday night and Robben Ford on Saturday night. Opening acts Danielle Nicole and Damon Fowler will take the stage at 6:30PM on Friday and Saturday respectively.



4th Annual Dog Fest of Zoar | June 10 & 11 | Historic Zoar Village 



Buckeye Dock Dogs returns to Zoar to showcase their Big Air, Extreme Vertical, and Speed Retrieval competitions. Dog lovers are encouraged to bring their canine companions to explore the festival, which will include a variety of pet-friendly vendors, a pet parade, a pet/owner look-a-like contest, a pet costume contest, and more!



North Canton Jaycee Fair | June 15-17 | North Canton Memorial Stadium



This annual fair is held on the parking lot of the North Canton Memorial Stadium on Seventh Street. Featuring lots of local food vendors, this event is perfect for the whole family. With rides and games for the kids--adults will love the gaming tent, where you can try your hasnd at Texas Hold ' Em or Blackjack.



Stark County Italian-American Festival | June 15-17 | Downtown Canton 



Enjoy a weekend of delicious Italian food, great entertainment including cultural music, dancing, and local favorite bands. Are you a bocce player? Enjoy tournament play all weekend long!



The 28th Annual Cruise-On-In & Dance Party | June 17 | Downtown Massillon



Enjoy all your favorite vendor food, rockin’ live entertainment, family fun, fireworks and hundreds of classic, antique and custom cars, trucks, and motorcycles.  



The Country Fest | June 22-24 | Clay’s Park & Resort



The Country Fest is the ultimate country fan experience with camping, swimming, and awesome shows! 2017 headliners include Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, Justin Moore, Lee Brice, Randy Houser, Michael Ray, Travis Tritt and many, many more!



Jackson Township Community Celebration | June 28-July 1 | Jackson North Park



Enjoy live entertainment each night, rides and games from Bates Amusement, your favorite festival food concessions, fireworks, and the ever popular 5K “Night Glow” run/walk!



Canton First Friday: 10 Years of First Friday | July 7 | Canton Arts District



First Friday is a monthly party in the downtown Canton Arts District, featuring music, performances, and visual arts events. This party is one to be matched, as we celebrate 10 years of First Friday! Remember to mark your calendars--First Friday is the First Friday of every month all year round, and it always is a celebration!



Olde Canal Days Festival | July 13-15 | Downtown Canal Fulton



The Olde Canal Days Festival includes rides provided by Bates Amusement, food vendors, arts and crafts, a Grand Parade, fireworks, entertainment, historical re-enactments, and rides on The Canal Boat!



Island Party | July 14 | Massillon Museum



A FREE family-friendly event with live reggae music and children’s activities! Purchase pulled pork  or jerk sandwiches and the tropical bar will offer a variety of island drinks. Bring a chair and blanket and settle in for the evening!



Warrior Dash | July 22 & 23 | Clay’s Park & Resort



Participants earn their Warrior helmet by tackling a fierce 3-4 mile course and 12 extreme obstacles. After conquering the Battleground, Warriors celebrate with turkey legs, beer steins and live music at a post-race party that’s in a league of it’s own!



7th Annual Bellissimo: Fine Arts & Craft Show | July 23 | Gervasi Vineyard



Enjoy a beautiful afternoon and evening and enjoy the works of a variety of artists and artisans working in a wide range of mediums including painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, jewelry, glass, ceramic, wood, fiber, and more!



Balloon Classic & Fireworks | July 28-30 | Kent State University at Stark/Stark State College



You will be amazed with over 60 hot air balloons, dozens of food and beverage vendors, musical entertainment, mobile tours, children’s activities, Night Glow and a fireworks extravaganza!



Harvest Festival | July 29 & 30 | Historic Zoar Village



Visitors won’t want to miss one of the nation’s most prestigious antiques shows, with dealers from across the U.S. sharing unique finds. Handmade folk art, furniture and fine crafts will be available for sale and enjoy 19th century demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides, and an antique car show.



Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Powered By Johnson Controls | August 3-6



Each year tens of thousands of fans descend upon Canton to celebrate the Enshrinement of the newest class of Hall of Famers! Thursday night kicks off the festivities, with the annual Hall of Fame game as the Arizona Cardinals face off against the Dallas Cowboys, followed by the Enshrinees’ Gold Jacket Dinner Friday night, The Canton Repository Grand Parade and Enshrinement Ceremony Saturday, and the festivities wrap up with the Concert for Legends featuring Toby Keith.



Greater Alliance Carnation Festival | August 3-12 | Carnation Mall and Silver Park



Enjoy the Rib Fest at the Carnation Mall from August 3rd through 5th at the Carnation Mall featuring rib vendors, additional food vendors, rides and games, and entertainment each evening. August 9th through 12th will be held in Silver Park and families can enjoy food vendors, craft sales, kids activites, entertainment, and a large fireworks display! Don’t miss the Carnation Festival Parade on Saturday, August 12th!



DIY in the ‘Ville | August 26 | Historic Downtown Hartville



Try a new hobby, learn a new skill, and be a part of the DIY movement in the ‘Ville. Visit Historic Downtown Hartville for a day of mini workshops and demonstrations from downtown shops and special guests.



168th Stark County Fair | August 29-September 4 | Stark County Fairgrounds



One of Ohio’s longest -running agricultural fairs—featuring a country concert, truck and tractor pulls, demolition derbies, band shows, harness racing, daily concerts and entertainment, rides, animals, exhibits, fair food and MORE!



Louisville Constitution Festival | September 8-17 | Downtown Louisville



A week-long celebration of activities including a festival with rides, food vendors, live entertainment, Queen’s pageant, parade, golf outing, and so much more!



Yankee Peddler Festival | September 9-24 | Clay’s Park and Resort



Step back in time 200 years and visit pioneer American with master artists and crafters setting up rustic shops along streams and amid lovely wooded dales, with foods and snacks cooked over open fires, and with non-stop entertainment!



Little C Music Festival | September 15 & 16 | Downtown Canton
