The Canton Museum of Art is proud to present Life in Motion: The Artistic Journey of Ernie Barnes in collaboration with the Estate of Ernie Barnes. The exhibition will include the work, Study II for The Dream Unfolds, 1996, recently purchased by the museum.

Former NFL player and acclaimed artist Ernie Barnes (1938–2009) created some of the 20th century’s most iconic images of African American life, sports, music, and more. Well-known for his dance scene painting, The Sugar Shack, featured on the 1970s hit sitcom, Good Times, this new, original exhibit offers a survey of his inspiring art across nearly five decades ... emphasizing energy, joy, resilience, and achievement!
