The Great Massillon Adventure - Bicentennial Performance
May 15, 2026 7:00 PM –8:30 PM
Overview
Celebrate 200 years of Massillon’s history at “The Great Massillon Adventure” on Friday, May 15, at 7:00 p.m., in St. Mary School gym. The performance by 130 local children, members of the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon and St. Mary School students, will include music and images based on Massillon’s rich history. The children range from kindergarten age to eighth grade.
The show is free and open to everyone. No reservations are required. Free parking is available in the St. Mary lot (entrance on First Street, N.E.).
The extravaganza is written and directed by volunteer Kathy Kettler, who also created the costumes. The event is a reprise of a performance by St. Mary students when Kettler served as principal of the school.
The event is in collaboration with the Massillon Bicentennial Committee, VFW Post 3124, and America 250. The VFW offered a grant for the enrichment of students’ understanding of the community’s importance in the history of the nation and to encourage them to embrace history and explore the past and the future’s potential without limitations.
