Junior Naturalist Day: Fungi, Bacteria, and Invertebrates Investigation
August 7, 2024 10:00 AM –1:00 PM
Overview
Join The Wilderness Center for our summer Jr. Naturalist Days, designed for young nature enthusiast ages 7-10. Over five exciting days, participants will delve into the fascinating world of nature, exploring topics like pollinators, conservation, mammals, freshwater ecosystems, and become FBI Investigators. Through hands-on activities, exploration, and games we will discover some of the skills it takes to be a naturalist here at The Wilderness Center.
Explore the hidden world of Ohio’s fungi, bacteria, and invertebrates! Jr. Naturalist will examine the important role these critters and fungi play in our ecosystem. We will examine the environment’s cleanup crew and see their world under microscopes and up-close and personal as we explore habitats around The Wilderness Center in search of our decomposer friends.
We will take a lunch break, so Jr. Naturalists are encouraged to bring a lunch and snacks. We will also be exploring various habitats and spaces. Make sure to dress for outdoor adventures and bring sunscreen and insect repellent.
