Firefly Festival

The twinkle of firefly-filled summer nights is always a wondrously welcome sight! Join us for an evening exploring and celebrating these amazing insects. Together, we’ll discover the science behind their bright glow and shed some light on their remarkable lives. Our fireflies are at risk, but we’ll learn how we can all help protect these sparkling jewels of the night.

Festivities include:
Naturalist-led presentations and interpretive displays on Firefly natural history and backyard conservation actions
Firefly-themed crafts and activities for the young and young at heart
Learn about the importance of dark skies with our Interactive Dark Sky’s LabView a planetarium show – starting every hour (25-person limit, first come first seated)
Enjoy delicious desserts from Crush Lovable Ice Cream Sandwiches food truck (available for purchase)

As the night darkens, there will be a campfire, star watch (pending clear skies), and guided hikes for firefly viewing.$10/person; children under 5 free
Pre-registration is highly encouraged. Ticket prices increase at walk-in. Please have your confirmation email accessible to claim your wristbands.
