Black History Event: Camp Delaware Film Screening

The Stark County Black History Museum at the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum in Canton invites guests to a Black History Month event. Join Dr. Tameka Ellington, Curator of Black History and her guests, Mark & Francine Butler for the screening of Camp Delaware, a play turned film that depicts the story of the Black Union Army Soldiers preparing for the Civil War battle. Robert Alexander Pinn born in Perry Township of Stark County, trained at Camp Delaware and fought with the 5th U.S. Colored Infantry Regiment in 1863. His final resting place is the Massillon City Cemetery.
Register online or call 330-455-7043 during regular business hours. The deadline for registration is Friday, February 20, 2026. Cost is $25 per person. Includes admission to the film screening, popcorn, and hot & cold refreshments.
