Kirk Schuring Park
Overview
On Friday, October 29, 2021 the Jackson Township Board of Trustees adopted Resolution 21-221, which officially dedicated the former Tam O’Shanter golf course and renamed Jackson Township’s forty (40) acres as the Kirk Schuring Park.
It will cover a 40-acre tract at the end of Belden Greens Circle NW, a road that is part of development at the former Tam O'Shanter golf course. Featuring natural grass, the space includes seven regulation soccer fields and four smaller soccer fields, as well as parking, picnic shelters and rest rooms, and areas for food trucks. The park is available to rent for tournaments throughout the season, and is conveniently located minutes away from the Belden Village area and dozens of restaurants and hotels.
The park will be situated between commercial development to the north along Fulton Drive NW and the 200-acre Stark County Park that once was the golf course. Trails from the county park will connect with the township park and to the commercial development.
