On Your Mark, Get Set, Go Run in Stark County

September 2021 - There are so many running events in Stark County in 2021. From a full marathon to family friendly runs your list of races to register for this season is sure to grow a little longer!

Fall and Winter is the perfect time to hit the trails and explore a new community in Stark County with a 5K or even a full Marathon. Spend time with friends or create a new family tradition with one of these events.


Run Now Wine Later / October 2 / Canton
​​Experience the beauty of an autumn morning as you run through Gervasi Vineyard, passing the grapes ripe for harvest, orchards and more. Traverse the Middlebranch Trail through wetlands and forest, and finish at Gervasi Vineyard where you can enjoy food and beverage. This 4.5K trail run/walk is sure to please. Each registrant will receive a $10 voucher valid for food, beverage and shopping in the Marketplace.


Santa Clara Nun Run / October 9 / Canton
This is our 75th Anniversary and events are planned to make this a special celebration.  The Poor Clares came to Canton in 1946 and we look foward to kicking off the celebration with our 5K run/walk.  The 5K will run in the neighboring streets, the Middlebranch trail and finally through the monastery grounds with many cheering nuns.


Oktoberfest Run / October 23 / Alliance
Head to Beech Creek Gardens to celebrate Oktoberfest while also supporting our non-profit organization with a 1-mile fun run! Run or walk through our beautiful trails while enjoying cold beer & having a blast with your friends, all for a great cause! Can you make it to the end? Challenge your friends and your family to see who has what it takes!​


Great Pumpkin Race / October 30 / Canton
Join us for the for the 23rd Anniversary Great Pumpkin Race on Saturday, October 30 at the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 2950 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, OH 44708. Wheelchairs, strollers and dogs are welcome at our family friendly, inclusive event.  In addition to the road events, we have pumpkin cart racing, pumpkin decorating and the chance to Guess the Weight of the Giant Pumpkin!


The Haunted Forest Marathon / October 31 / Canal Fulton
The Inaugural Haunted Forest Marathon is scheduled to run on Sunday, October 31st, 2021 in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The event will be the culmination of events in Canal Fulton throughout the month of October. The race will consist of a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles), and a 5K (3.1 miles). The event will be heavily themed with a spooky starting line, tombstone mile markers, zombie water stations, and props all along the course. We will be running on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath from St Helena Heritage Park.


Made in American Half Marathon / November 7 / Massillon
Come out and join us for a fun, festive 1/2 Marathon & 10K!  The event is on Sunday, November 7, 2021, starting at 8:00 AM in downtown Massillon.  The in-person race takes place on and around the Towpath in Massillon, comprised of 4 miles of rolling hills, and the remainder a flat, fast Towpath finish at the Lake Avenue Trailhead.  Time limit is 3.5 Hours to complete the event!


Harvest Moon Run / November 7 / East Canton
10th Annual Harvest Moon Run to benefit Community Harvest a program of the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank is Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Varian Orchards. Check back for more details and to sign-up.


Perry Rotary Turkey Trot / November 25 / Canton
Come join the Perry Twp. Rotarians and the Perry Community on Thanksgiving Morning for our 24th Annual Perry Twp. Rotary Turkey Trot on November 25, 2021. This is a 5K Run/Walk, Competitive Walk, & Little Gobbler Run at Central Catholic High School, 4824 Tuscarawas St. W, Canton, OH 44708. This annual event has become a family event that hosts over 2800 runners/walkers and their families each year.


Frosty Frolic / December 11 / Canton
Stadium Park lights up every holiday season with an impressive display of decorations, hand crafted by the folks at Canton Parks. The Frosty Frolic will start and end on the grounds of the McKinley National Memorial. The route takes you through Stadium Park with beautiful views of the lights. Registrations include a chip-timed 5k, race shirt, finisher's medal, PLUS Hot Chocolate and Christmas Cookies at the finish line!
