5 Things To Do This Weekend December 8-10

December 4, 2017-'s getting chilly outside and the holidays are just three weeks away! Spread holiday cheer near and far with some of the most prominent holiday traditions in Stark County!

1. Canton Ballet presents "The Nutcracker" | December 8-10 | Canton Palace Theatre

Do not miss this thrilling opportunity to see New York City quality dance in Canton! New York City Ballet Soloist and Canton Ballet alumnus Zachary Catazaro returns to the Canton Palace Theatre stage with NYCB Principal dancer Sterling Hyltin and dancers of Canton Ballet!! Their exciting performances in 2015 brought audiences to their feet. "I had no idea it could like that!" was a comment often heard among the audience.Performances are Friday at 7:30PM, Saturday at 2:00PM & 7:30PM, and Sunday at 2:00PM. 2. Canton Charge vs. Delware 87ers | December 8 | Canton Civic Center

Join the Canton Charge as they take on the Delaware 87ers @ 7pm! Sing for Santa, Cavs sword yearbook giveaway, PLUS shoot free throws on the court after the game! Tickets start at $8, so its perfect to take the whole family. 

3. Frosty Frolic | December 9 | Stadium Park 

The Canton Parks light up every holiday season with an impressive display of decorations, hand crafted by the folks at Canton Parks. The Frosty Frolic will start and end on the grounds of the McKinley National Memorial. The route takes you through Stadium Park with beautiful views of the lights.

Whether you're a true competitor and plan to lay down a PR, or you'll be pushing a stroller, all ages are welcome to participate. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. You'll get a great shirt, finisher medal and everything you'd expect at a Holiday event, like Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. Frosty will be there with Mr. and Mrs. Claus for your pictures. 4. Tea with Mrs. Clause | December 9 | Canton Woman's Club

Join us as we welcome Mrs. Claus and her elves for lunch and tea at the Canton Woman's Club!  Children of all ages are invited to join Mrs. Claus for lunch, tea and cookies.  Crafts and activities will  follow in the ballroom. Cost is $18 per person.Reservations and prepayment are required. Call 330-453-4802 with questions or to make your reservation today!

5. "Bells of Christmas" | December 10 | St. Stephen Martyr Luthern Church 

No sound is lovelier during the Christmas season than the sound of bells ringing joyfully.  Come join The Harmony Ringers, the only semi-professional bell choir in Stark County, when they present “Bells of Christmas”.  A few of the songs that you will hear are “Jingle Bell Rock”, “And the Glory of the Lord” from The Messiah, “The Little Drummer Boy”, and “The First Noel” which is always a crowd favorite.  This will be the first concert to use our 6th and 7th octaves of new bass chimes which add such a depth to the music.  This concert is FREE to the public, but freewill donations are always appreciated.
