MasterWorks: Mozart's Requiem
March 23, 2024 7:30 PM
Overview
On the eve of Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week, the CSO presents one of the most significant pieces of classical music ever written. Mozart’s beloved Requiem was left unfinished at the time of his death, leaving many questions unanswered about the true intention of the work. Composers old and new have tried their hand at completing it, though what Mozart had in mind will never be known. This dramatic work is paired with George Walker’s Lyric for Strings, dedicated in memory of the composer’s grandmother who passed away during its composition. This concert reflects the human condition of life and death, birth and rebirth, and ultimately, the hope of resurrection.
Tickets range from $10, $25, $37, or $50. This concert is available for 20% off when purchased with a season subscription. Children and students can subscribe to our MasterWorks subscription for FREE! Single tickets will go on sale on August 15th.
