Historic Barns of Ohio

Join us at Spring Hill Farm for a program celebrating the fusion of Ohio art and history! Artist and Author Robert Kroeger (Kray-gurr) explores barns across the state, learning their stories and sharing them with others through his essays, events, and books like Historic Barns of Ohio (History Press, Arcadia Publishing). After his travels he heads back to his home in Cincinnati to paint the barns and their landscapes using the impasto technique. His work can be seen at https://www.robertkroeger.com

Join us for this event celebrating the restoration of our granary barn (ca. early 1900s) over the past year and to learn about other historic barns around Stark County and greater Ohio! The event will begin with a painting demonstration in the barn along with shopping opportunities with local/rustic vendors. The painting demonstration will be followed by a barn talk and an option to go on a historic home tour until 7pm. Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author. A few concessions will also be available. Several paintings will be available for bidding. All proceeds will go towards Spring Hill's restoration campaign to restore and preserve several outbuildings on the historic 1811 property, including the granary, milk house and wool house. Help us reach our goal of fundraising $75,000!
