On Your Mark, Get Set, Go Run in Stark County 2017

February 28, 2017- Whether you started your training for your New Year’s Resolution or you are wanting to start goal setting now—there are so many running events in Stark County in 2017. From a full marathon to family friendly runs your list is going to grow a little longer of events you want to participate in!

St. Patrick’s Day 5K | March 11 | Louisville

Think Green! This is the 16th year for the Louisville St. Patrick's Day 5K. Start the spring out with a run and the Ohio Challenge Series with something green and bring your lucky charms!

Funny Bunny 4-Miler | April 8 | Sippo Lake Park

Enjoy a 4-Mile run around Sippo Lake and surrounding neighborhoods, with stunning views of the water and wildlife! Depending on April showers bringing May flowers—you may even get to run through a little mud.

Legends 5K | April 29 | Downtown Canton

Begin the Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon weekend with a special 5K on Saturday. The 5K will take you on a tour of the History of Professional Football as you run the course and be greeted at the finish line by a special guest!

Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon | April 30 | Downtown Canton 

Be a part of the greatest race around! The Marathon is a full 26.2 mile event that will take you on a scenic journey of Canton, OH. Runners will start and finish in Downtown Canton and will travel along a pure out and back course. The Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and Two-Person Relay are SOLD OUT, but there are still a few spots available for the Team Relay to experience this legendary race around Canton!

Boots on the Ground | June 10 | Historic Canal Fulton

Take your pick between a 5K or a 5-Mile! Enjoy Historic Downtown Canal Fulton, areas of the Towpath and Canal while supporting Veterans Organizations. Enjoy a little party with food, music, and military displays after you cross the finish line!

Jackson Township Night Glow 5K | June 30 | Jackson Community Park 

The 17th Annual Night Glow 5K has become one of runners "must do" races of each racing season.   This event is part of the Jackson Community 4th of July Celebration.   Please join us at Jackson HS on June 30th, 2017, for the Fireworks start!

40th Annual July 4th Race | July 4 | North Canton YMCA 

Celebrate Independence Day with an energizing run, and stick around for the presentation of runners' awards and the Ron Russell Perseverance Award, dancing in the streets, and North Canton's July 4th Parade.

Warrior Dash | July 22 | Clay’s Park Resort

Rugged terrain, muddy trails, obstacles on land and water! You know what the Warrior Dash is all about! Follow it up with a turkey leg, a beer, and a shower!

Up, Up & Away 5K | July 29 | Kent State University at Stark

The Up, Up & Away 5k is a new event brought to you by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival. There will be hot air balloon shaped finisher medals for all participants, plus Spirit Airline travel voucher for the top three male and female runners! We will also have inflatables for the kids and so much more!

Insane Inflatable 5K | August 30 | Clay’s Park Resort

3.1 miles, 11 insane inflatables, 1 crazy fun day! From start to finish the Insane Inflatable 5K is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. When they say INSANE, they mean it. It’s your chance to be a kid again!

Run Now Wine Later | October 7 | Gervasi Vineyard

Experience the beauty of an autumn morning as you run through Gervasi Vineyard, passing the grapes ripe for harvest, orchards and more during this 4.5-mile trail run/walk. Traverse the Middlebranch Trail through wetlands and forest, loop around the Glenoak Campus and finish at the beautiful Gervasi Vineyard, where you can enjoy food and beverages.

Charge 5K | November 4 | Canton Memorial Civic Center

The ONLY race in Stark County to start and finish INDOORS! The atmosphere will be electric as you gather between the Civic Center and the Cultural Center, music pumping and echoing off the walls, the Charge Girls cheering ... as you anticipate that magical Arena Finish just 3.1 miles away.

Frosty Frolic | December 9 | McKinley Monument

The Canton Parks light up every holiday season with an impressive display of decorations, hand crafted by the folks at Canton Parks. The Frosty Frolic will start and end on the grounds of the McKinley National Memorial. The route takes you through Stadium Park with beautiful views of the lights.
